Dioica 88 is a French strain and is widely spread in Mediterranean climates. It’s straw-production orientated and can be also used for the production of biomass, seeds and inflorescences.
As the name clues in, Dioica 88 is a dioecious plant which means that its genotype produces both male and female plants. Once it flowers, male plants die and female plants (2/3 of the crop) mature the seeds. It has a vegetative cycle of 170 days and grows up to 3.5m height.
