Crimson clover – are annuals, and if the winters are favorable and not cold, most varieties are honey plants that overwinter well. Suitable for fodder mixtures with two-year rich-flowered sedges.
Use: grown alone or in mixtures for early fodder production: green fodder, silage, hay in rolls, grazing. Some varieties are suitable for green manure. Accumulates atmospheric nitrogen.
Cultivation features: it is recommended to sow in the second decade of August, do not delay sowing. Tolerates (and improves) sandy soils. Does not tolerate waterlogged fields. Grows well in neutral or slightly alkaline soils (pH 6-7).
